Biosecurity on a dairy farm is based on preventing the introduction of deleterious diseases that can be introduced through feed, bedding, insects and vermin, as well as new additions to the herd. Regional and international regulatory guidelines and standards to maintain biosecurity and manage waste on commercial dairy farms will be discussed, with an emphasis on herd health and food safety aspects.
